Switzerland Voted to Not Shut Borders: What Happened and What it Means

While Switzerland is not apart of the European Union, it still remains geographically, politically and economically close with the bloc thanks to a series of bilateral agreements. However, the Swiss government recently held a referendum on freedom of movement within Europe as a result of supposed “uncontrolled” immigration.
